Fix OpenDrive Sync Errors — Login, Upload, and Listing Problems Resolved with RcloneView
When an OpenDrive sync fails, the job history, logs, and Folder Compare in RcloneView show whether the cause is credentials, transfer load, or files that never arrived.
A failed sync rarely explains itself. A job might stop immediately, finish with some files missing, or leave a folder that looks incomplete. Rather than rerunning blindly, you can read RcloneView's job history, turn on DEBUG logging, and compare both sides to find the real cause. RcloneView mounts AND syncs 90+ providers from one window, on Windows, macOS, and Linux.

Manage & Sync All Clouds in One Place
RcloneView is a cross-platform GUI for rclone. Compare folders, transfer or sync files, and automate multi-cloud workflows with a clean, visual interface.
- One-click jobs: Copy · Sync · Compare
- Schedulers & history for reliable automation
- Works with Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox, S3, WebDAV, SFTP and more
Free core features. Plus automations available.
Rule Out Connection and Credential Problems
If a job fails within seconds, suspect the remote itself. Open Remote Manager from the Remote tab, edit the OpenDrive remote, and re-enter the account details. Then open the remote in an Explorer panel and browse the root folder. If it lists normally, the connection is healthy and the failure is elsewhere.
You can also run rclone about "remote:" in the built-in Terminal tab, replacing remote with your remote's name, to confirm the account responds.
Read Job History and Enable DEBUG Logs
Open Job History and look at the status, duration, and file count of the failed run. A job that errors out partway through usually points to a specific file or a transfer-load issue, not a bad login.
To see the exact message per file, go to Settings > Embedded Rclone, enable rclone logging, set the level to DEBUG, and restart the embedded rclone. Reproduce the failure, then read the log in the Log tab or the log folder you configured.
Reduce Load on Interrupted Transfers
Uploads that fail intermittently often improve when fewer files move at once. In Step 2 of the sync wizard, lower the number of file transfers and the equality checkers (the guidance for slow backends is 4 or less). Keep "Retry entire sync if fails" at 3 so transient failures are retried automatically.
Use a Dry Run before the rerun to confirm the list of files to be copied or deleted is what you expect.
Verify With Folder Compare
After the rerun, open Compare with the local folder on one side and OpenDrive on the other. Filter for left-only, right-only, and different files to see exactly what is still missing or mismatched, then copy only those items instead of repeating the whole job.
Getting Started
- Download RcloneView from rcloneview.com.
- Re-enter OpenDrive credentials in Remote Manager and confirm the root folder lists.
- Check Job History and enable DEBUG logging for the failing job.
- Lower concurrency, run a Dry Run, rerun, and confirm with Folder Compare.
With the cause identified from logs and comparisons, OpenDrive failures become a short, repeatable fix.
