Fix Gofile Sync Errors — Token, Upload, and Listing Problems Resolved with RcloneView
Most Gofile sync failures trace back to a handful of causes: a stale token, a wrong root folder, or a transfer that needs retrying — and RcloneView surfaces each one in its job history and logs.
Gofile authenticates with an Account API Token rather than a browser login, so errors usually surface as "unauthorized" messages or folders that look empty. Instead of guessing from a command line, you can use RcloneView's job history, logs, and terminal to see exactly which step failed. RcloneView mounts AND syncs 90+ providers from one window, on Windows, macOS, and Linux.

Free core features. Plus automations available.
Start With the Account API Token
The most common failure is an invalid or outdated token. Gofile tokens are found in the Account API Token field on your Gofile profile page. If you regenerated the token, or pasted it with a trailing space, every request will be rejected.
Open Remote Manager from the Remote tab, edit the Gofile remote, and paste the token again. Then browse the root of the remote in an Explorer panel. If the listing loads, authentication is fine and the problem lies elsewhere.
Read the Job History and Logs
When a scheduled or manual job ends as Errored, open Job History. Each entry records the execution type, duration, status, size, and file count, so you can tell whether a job failed instantly (usually authentication) or partway through (usually a network or file-level issue).
For deeper detail, enable rclone logging under Settings > Embedded Rclone, set the level to DEBUG, restart the embedded rclone, and reproduce the failure. The log shows the exact error returned for each file.
Isolate Upload Failures With a Dry Run
If only some files fail, run a Dry Run first. It lists what would be copied or deleted without changing anything, so you can confirm the source and destination are what you expect. Then lower the number of file transfers in Step 2 of the sync wizard and keep "Retry entire sync if fails" at its default of 3. Fewer parallel transfers often clears intermittent upload errors.
Verify With Folder Compare
After a rerun, use Compare to check the local folder against the Gofile folder side by side. Filters for left-only, right-only, and different files show precisely what is still missing, so you do not need to re-upload everything.
Getting Started
- Download RcloneView from rcloneview.com.
- Re-enter your Gofile Account API Token in Remote Manager and confirm the root folder lists.
- Review Job History and enable DEBUG logging if a job is Errored.
- Run a Dry Run, reduce concurrent transfers, then verify with Folder Compare.
A clear view of tokens, logs, and differences turns a vague Gofile failure into a quick fix.
