Migrate Google Drive to pCloud — Transfer Files with RcloneView

Move your entire Google Drive library to pCloud without downloading a single file to your local machine — RcloneView makes cloud-to-cloud migration fast and verifiable.

Teams and individuals frequently outgrow Google Drive's storage tiers or seek better privacy guarantees for their files. pCloud offers a compelling alternative with its European data center options and lifetime storage plans, but migrating thousands of files between two clouds feels daunting without the right tool. RcloneView removes that friction by enabling direct cloud-to-cloud transfers, so your files travel from Google Drive to pCloud without ever touching local disk.

Connect Google Drive and pCloud in RcloneView

The migration starts by adding both providers as remotes. In RcloneView, click Remote tab > New Remote, select Google Drive, and authenticate via the browser OAuth flow — no API keys needed. Repeat the process for pCloud, which also uses browser-based OAuth login. Once both remotes appear in your Explorer panels, you have a live side-by-side view of your source and destination.

With both remotes connected, you can browse your Google Drive folder hierarchy in the left panel and your pCloud storage on the right. This dual-panel view lets you verify folder structures and identify exactly which directories to migrate before running a single transfer. A content team moving 200 GB of creative assets can confirm the destination folder layout before committing to the full job.

Configure the Migration Job

Navigate to Home tab > Sync to open the 4-step job wizard. In Step 1, select your Google Drive source folder and a pCloud destination folder, then name the job something descriptive like gdrive-to-pcloud-migration. The one-way sync direction ensures only Google Drive changes are pushed to pCloud — your pCloud files remain untouched if the two sides diverge during migration.

In Step 2, increase Number of file transfers to 4–8 for faster throughput on large libraries. Enable checksum verification if you need byte-for-byte integrity confirmation — important when migrating legally significant documents or client deliverables. The default retry setting of 3 automatically handles transient API errors from either provider, so brief network hiccups don't abort the entire job.

Run a Dry Run Before Committing

Before transferring a large Google Drive account, click Dry Run in the Job Manager. RcloneView scans both clouds and lists every file that would be copied or deleted without making any actual changes. A consultancy migrating five years of project folders can review the full transfer plan and catch mismatched folder names or unexpected deletions before a single byte moves.

Monitor Progress and Review History

Once you are satisfied with the dry run, execute the job. The Transferring tab at the bottom of RcloneView shows live transfer progress: files transferred, current speed, and remaining work. After the job completes, the Job History panel records the run time, total data transferred, and final status — useful for confirming that a scheduled follow-up sync stayed consistent with the initial migration.

Getting Started

  1. Download RcloneView from rcloneview.com.
  2. Add Google Drive via Remote tab > New Remote and authenticate with your Google account.
  3. Add pCloud via Remote tab > New Remote and authenticate with your pCloud account.
  4. Create a Sync job with Google Drive as source and pCloud as destination.
  5. Run a Dry Run to preview the migration, then execute the job.

Moving data between cloud providers requires no intermediary downloads — RcloneView keeps the transfer entirely in the cloud and makes every run repeatable and auditable.
