Fix Zoho WorkDrive Sync Errors — Troubleshooting Guide for RcloneView
Most Zoho WorkDrive sync failures in RcloneView trace back to a mismatched region setting or a stale OAuth token — not a broken transfer job.
Zoho WorkDrive is a regional service, so the remote you configure has to point at the same data center your account actually lives in, and a mismatch there produces confusing connection errors that look unrelated to the real cause. RcloneView surfaces the details you need to isolate the problem in Job History and the Log tab, which turns a vague "sync failed" message into an actionable fix.

Region Mismatch and Connection Failures
Zoho WorkDrive requires a region selection during remote setup, and picking the wrong one is the single most common cause of a remote that connects briefly, then fails on every subsequent operation. Open Remote Manager, edit the Zoho WorkDrive remote, and confirm the region matches the data center shown in your Zoho account settings — a remote created under the wrong region often authenticates once but breaks on folder listing or transfer.
RcloneView mounts and syncs Zoho WorkDrive from the same window on Windows, macOS, and Linux, so once the region is corrected the fix applies to every job and mount built against that remote without platform-specific reconfiguration.
OAuth Token Expiration Mid-Sync
Since Zoho WorkDrive connects through a browser-based OAuth login, a sync that worked yesterday but fails today usually means the stored token expired or was revoked from the Zoho account side. Re-authenticate the remote in Remote Manager to trigger a fresh browser login, then re-run the job rather than assuming the sync configuration itself is at fault.
Reading Job History and Enabling Debug Logs
Job History records whether each run Completed, Errored, or was Canceled along with the exact stop time, which is a reliable way to correlate a failure with a specific file or API response rather than guessing from the summary dialog.
For failures that persist after fixing the region and token, enable rclone Logging in Settings, set the log level to DEBUG, restart the embedded rclone process, and reproduce the sync. The resulting log isolates the exact API call that failed, which is far more precise than interpreting the error dialog alone.
Getting Started
- Download RcloneView from rcloneview.com if you haven't already.
- Verify the region setting on your Zoho WorkDrive remote matches your account's actual data center.
- Re-authenticate the remote if the failure started suddenly after previously working.
- Enable DEBUG logging and reproduce the issue if the sync still fails after the region and token are confirmed correct.
Once the region and authentication are aligned, Zoho WorkDrive syncs in RcloneView behave the same as any other remote — predictable, logged, and easy to retry.
