Add IDrive E2 to RcloneView and manage your S3-compatible buckets alongside Google Drive, Amazon S3, Backblaze B2, and 90+ other cloud storage services.

IDrive E2 is a cost-effective S3-compatible object storage service, popular among developers and businesses looking for an affordable alternative to Amazon S3 while maintaining API compatibility. RcloneView's support for S3-compatible providers means you can connect your IDrive E2 buckets to the GUI and handle syncs, backups, and cross-cloud migrations without writing command-line scripts.

Setting Up IDrive E2 in RcloneView

IDrive E2 uses standard S3-compatible credentials: an Access Key ID, Secret Access Key, and an endpoint URL tied to your selected region. You can generate these credentials from your IDrive E2 account portal. Once you have them, open RcloneView, go to the Remote tab, and click New Remote. Select Amazon S3 as the provider type and configure it with your IDrive E2 endpoint URL and credentials.

After saving, your IDrive E2 remote appears in the File Explorer. Browse buckets and objects directly, check file sizes and modification timestamps, and use right-click operations to copy, move, delete, or download files. The breadcrumb path bar shows your current location within a bucket, with auto-complete suggestions as you navigate deeper folder structures.

Syncing IDrive E2 to Other Clouds

Organizations using IDrive E2 as a primary backup target often want to replicate critical buckets to a secondary provider for geographic redundancy or provider failover. RcloneView makes this straightforward: create a sync job with your IDrive E2 bucket as source and Amazon S3, Cloudflare R2, or Google Drive as the destination.

The 4-step sync wizard handles the configuration: storage selection, advanced transfer settings (concurrent transfers, checksum verification), filtering rules (exclude large files, specific extensions), and optional scheduling. Enable checksum verification to confirm that each object transferred intact — this is especially important for binary archives and database dumps stored in IDrive E2.

Scheduled sync (PLUS license) runs your IDrive E2 replication automatically at specified intervals. Job History records each run's start time, duration, transferred file count, and final status — giving you a persistent audit trail without maintaining external scripts or cron jobs.

Monitoring Active Transfers

When running large IDrive E2 syncs, the Transferring tab at the bottom of RcloneView shows live progress: files currently being transferred, cumulative count, and overall sync status. You can cancel a running job directly from this view if needed, and the Log tab captures timestamped entries for troubleshooting any errors that arise.

For high-volume workloads, adjusting the Number of File Transfers in the sync wizard's Advanced Settings step controls how many objects are transferred concurrently. The multi-thread transfers setting (default: 4) handles chunked uploads for larger objects.

Getting Started

  1. Download RcloneView from rcloneview.com.
  2. Generate IDrive E2 Access Key ID and Secret Access Key from your IDrive account portal.
  3. Add a new S3-compatible remote in RcloneView with your IDrive E2 endpoint and credentials.
  4. Create a sync job to back up IDrive E2 buckets to your secondary storage on a regular schedule.

With RcloneView, your IDrive E2 buckets are as manageable as any other cloud storage — visible in a file browser, configurable with sync jobs, and auditable through job history.
