If your business operates in China or Asia-Pacific, Alibaba Cloud OSS is likely part of your storage infrastructure. But managing it alongside global clouds like S3 and Google Drive requires a unified tool.

Alibaba Cloud Object Storage Service (OSS) is one of the largest cloud storage platforms in Asia. With data centers across China, Southeast Asia, and globally, it's the go-to choice for businesses serving Asian markets. RcloneView connects Alibaba Cloud OSS with 70+ other cloud providers, giving you a single interface for multi-cloud management.

Use cases:

  • China ↔ US data sync — Keep copies in both regions for global access.
  • Disaster recovery — Cross-cloud, cross-region backup.
  • Migration — Move workloads between cloud providers.

2) Alibaba OSS → Google Drive

Share data from your Alibaba infrastructure with teams using Google Workspace:

  • Schedule daily syncs of report folders to Google Drive.
  • Teams in different regions access data from their preferred platform.

Cross-Border Data Considerations

When syncing between Alibaba Cloud (China) and global providers:

  • China's data regulations may restrict certain data from leaving the country.
  • Network performance between China and overseas can be variable — use bandwidth limiting and retry (v1.3) for reliable transfers.
  • Choose the right Alibaba region — Use oss-cn-hangzhou for domestic, or oss-ap-southeast-1 (Singapore) for better international connectivity.

Getting Started

  1. Create an Alibaba Cloud account at aliyun.com.
  2. Download RcloneView from rcloneview.com.
  3. Add Alibaba Cloud OSS as an S3-compatible remote.
  4. Sync with your other clouds — S3, Google Drive, OneDrive, or NAS.
  5. Schedule automated syncs for hands-off multi-region data management.

Alibaba Cloud OSS doesn't have to be an island. Connect it to your entire storage ecosystem.
