Leaving Citrix ShareFile for Microsoft 365? The migration doesn't have to be a nightmare. RcloneView gives you a visual, verifiable workflow to move everything — with zero data loss.

Many organizations are consolidating their file storage into Microsoft 365, replacing standalone solutions like Citrix ShareFile with OneDrive for Business and SharePoint. But migrating years of corporate data, client files, and shared folders isn't trivial. RcloneView provides the tools to make this migration controlled, verifiable, and repeatable.

Why Companies Leave ShareFile

  • Consolidation — Microsoft 365 already includes OneDrive and SharePoint. Paying separately for ShareFile is redundant.
  • Integration — OneDrive integrates natively with Teams, Outlook, and Office apps.
  • Cost — Eliminating a separate ShareFile license saves money.
  • Compliance — Centralizing data in one platform simplifies governance.

The challenge is the migration itself: how do you move everything without losing files, breaking folder structures, or disrupting active users?

Connecting ShareFile

  1. Open RcloneView and click Add Remote.
  2. Select Citrix ShareFile from the provider list.
  3. Authenticate with your ShareFile credentials (OAuth or API key).
  4. Save — your ShareFile folders and files are now browsable.

Migration Strategy: Four Phases

Phase 1: Assessment

Browse your ShareFile account in the Explorer to understand the scope:

  • Total data volume (GB/TB).
  • Number of files and folder depth.
  • Identify critical folders vs. archivable data.
Assess ShareFile data for migration

Phase 2: Initial Copy

Run the first full copy from ShareFile to OneDrive/SharePoint:

  1. Add OneDrive as a remote (via OAuth).
  2. Create a Copy job: ShareFile → OneDrive.
  3. Run the job — folder structure is preserved automatically.
  4. Monitor progress in real time.
Monitor ShareFile to OneDrive transfer

Phase 3: Verify

After the copy completes, verify with Folder Comparison:

  • Confirm all files transferred.
  • Identify any differences.
  • Copy missing files to close gaps.
Verify ShareFile migration completeness

Phase 4: Sync During Transition

Keep both systems in sync while users transition:

  1. Schedule a daily Sync job from ShareFile → OneDrive.
  2. New files added to ShareFile automatically appear in OneDrive.
  3. Once all users have switched, decommission ShareFile.
Schedule ongoing sync during migration

Post-Migration: Keep a Backup

Even after migration, consider keeping a secondary backup of OneDrive data:

  • Sync OneDrive to AWS S3 for offsite redundancy.
  • Use Batch Jobs to automate multi-destination backups.

Getting Started

  1. Download RcloneView from rcloneview.com.
  2. Add ShareFile and OneDrive/SharePoint as remotes.
  3. Browse and assess the migration scope.
  4. Copy, verify, sync through the four-phase approach.
  5. Decommission ShareFile with confidence.

Migration from ShareFile to Microsoft 365 doesn't have to be a leap of faith. RcloneView makes it a controlled, verified process with zero data loss.
