Step 1 — Connect pCloud in RcloneView
- Add pCloud via
+ New Remote(WebDAV or OAuth flow). Guide: add-oath-online-login. - Confirm the remote works by listing folders in Remote Explorer.
Step 2 — Create a Mount (Windows or macOS)
- Open Mount Manager and choose your pCloud remote. Guide: mount-cloud-storage-as-a-local-drive.
- Pick a target:
- Windows: choose a drive letter (e.g.,
P:) usingcmount. - macOS: pick a mount path (e.g.,
/Volumes/pcloud).

- Save and mount. You should see the drive in Explorer or Finder immediately.
Step 3 — Tune Cache for Smooth Browsing
pCloud libraries often mix small docs and large media. Tuning cache keeps both snappy.
- Cache mode: set to
fullfor better seeks and directory browsing. - Cache size: allocate SSD space (e.g., 2-10 GB for docs, 10-50 GB for media).
- Read ahead: add
--vfs-read-ahead 64Min Global Rclone Flags for faster streaming. See general-settings. - Bandwidth caps: limit uploads/downloads during work hours to avoid congestion. Also in general-settings.
Step 4 — Verify with Compare Before Heavy Changes
- Use Compare to preview differences before bulk moves or cleanup: compare-folder-contents.
- Spot newer, missing, or mismatched files without running a destructive sync.
- Save the compare as a job so you can rerun audits anytime.
Step 5 — Optional Sync Jobs for Key Folders
- Keep critical folders (e.g.,
Projects/orPhotos/) mirrored to another cloud or NAS: create-sync-jobs. - Start with copy for safety; switch to sync when you trust the target.
- Schedule off-hours runs so mounts stay responsive while you work.
Monitor and Recover Fast
- Watch throughput and stalled files in Transfer Monitor: real-time-transfer-monitoring.
- Check Job History for successes, skips, and retries: execute-manage-job.
- If a connection drops, remount and RcloneView will resume pending transfers.
Tips for Teams
- Use consistent paths (same drive letter or mount path) so shared project files never break.
- Create presets per department (Design, Media, Finance) to keep includes/excludes tidy.
